Due to expansion, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their existing team. You will have a varied role and be working with multiple properties in and around the area of Newmarket using your skills and experience to repair, inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment including HVAC systems, boilers, pumps and generators. You will be the type of person who is detail-orientated and enjoys working autonomously within a team whilst providing support where needed. Our client works in a fast-paced commercial environment so you will be kept busy and involved allowing you to immerse yourself within the business.
As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates optimally and lasts longer.
- Responding promptly to emergency repair requests to minimise downtime.
- Coordinating repairs, upgrades, and installations with contractors and external service providers.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment logs.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Assisting in planning and executing projects such as equipment upgrades and system enhancements.
- Providing technical support and guidance to other staff members as needed.
As the Maintenance Engineer, you will have:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (e.g., ONC or BTEC Level 3).
- Suitable multi-skilled apprenticeship.
- Proven experience in a mechanical/electrical role, ideally in facilities management or an estate environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving mechanical/electrical issues.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and manage multiple tasks.
