Role Purpose

Reporting into the SVP of Product and Strategy, this is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing EXA Infrastructure’s product strategy across the company’s core portfolio, including Transport, Dark Fibre, Colocation and Financial Services connectivity solutions. EXA is the leading dedicated fibre infrastructure provider spanning Europe and North America, including the largest pan-European fibre footprint, the most scalable transatlantic platform, and the lowest latency financial markets connectivity between the UK and the US. The Head of Product Management will lead a team of Product Managers responsible for individual product lines and will ensure EXA’s portfolio is competitive, commercially successful and aligned with the company’s network investment strategy. The role will focus on maximising revenue growth, driving product innovation, and ensuring strong alignment between Sales, Engineering, Network Investments and Operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership
    • Define and execute the overall product strategy across EXA’s connectivity portfolio including Dark Fibre, Transport and Financial Services connectivity.
    • Drive the product portfolio P&L, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
    • Ensure EXA’s products remain price and feature competitive within the European infrastructure market.
    • Drive portfolio optimisation, including product lifecycle management, pricing strategy and feature development.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and develop a team of Product Managers responsible for Transport, Financial Services and Dark Fibre products.
    • Provide clear strategic direction, prioritisation and commercial oversight across the portfolio.
    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and commercial excellence.
  • Commercial Management
    • Support the sales organisation and own the P&L for strategic deals and complex bids.
    • Oversee pricing strategy, discount frameworks and commercial governance.
    • Participate in customer negotiations and supplier back-to-back agreements where required.
    • Work closely with Sales to develop winning strategies for key accounts and growth markets.
  • Product Marketing
    • Create and articulate product propositions and application to customer use cases.
    • Clearly differentiate EXA’s products and capabilities in relation to competitors.
    • Own all product collateral, datasheets, white papers and product training materials.
  • Market & Customer Strategy
    • Maintain a strong understanding of European fibre infrastructure markets, customer segments and competitors.
    • Identify new market opportunities and support the Network Investments team in prioritising network expansion.
    • Engage regularly with key customers to ensure the portfolio evolves with market demand and emerging use cases.
  • Financial Performance
    • Oversee financial modelling and investment evaluation, including IRR, NPV and payback analysis.
    • Monitor key product portfolio KPIs, including revenue growth, margin performance and utilisation.
    • Drive initiatives to increase ARPU and customer adoption.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
    • Work closely with Sales to support revenue growth.
    • Engineering and Operations to ensure product feasibility and service quality.
    • Network Investments to align product strategy with infrastructure expansion.
    • Marketing to support demand generation initiatives, collateral creation and PR activities.

Individual Profile

  • Experience
    • Extensive product management experience in telecommunications infrastructure or wholesale connectivity markets.
    • Proven track record managing product portfolios within fibre networks, transport services or infrastructure services.
    • Experience leading or mentoring product management teams.
    • Strong understanding of European dark fibre and wholesale bandwidth markets.
  • Skills
    • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation experience.
    • Ability to create and evaluate financial models and investment cases.
    • Experience managing large strategic deals and complex contracts.
    • Excellent ability to bridge commercial and technical teams.
