Reporting into Treasury, the Payment Analyst, working closely with Accounts Payable, Payroll and Tax, is responsible for ensuring the Group’s payments are processed in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate will have experience at identifying process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce errors and minimise risks. This role sits firmly between Accounts Payable and Treasury.
Key responsibilities
- Payments processing and troubleshooting
- Ensure that the Group’s payments, 90% of which are automated, are correctly processed across the various banking platforms
- Be the main point of contact for all payment related queries
- Ensure bank accounts are appropriately funded
- Review and maintenance of direct debit and credit card payments, rationalising these where appropriate
- Review and maintenance of payment templates across relevant systems to ensure these remain appropriate
- Ongoing review of payment processes to identify improvements to create efficiencies and reduce errors and manual input whilst ensuring compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures
- Review and maintenance of payment process guides
- Administer the Treasury mailbox
- Provide cover for the Treasury Analyst
- Ad hoc tasks as they arise
Individual profile
- Excellent understanding of Accounts Payable processes and minimum 2 years’ experience in an accounts payable role
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and multi-tasking abilities
- Positive attitude, reliable and dependable
- Show initiative and a proactive mindset, willing to take on new tasks and get ahead of potential issues
- Ability to work independently when required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Proficient in Excel

- Oracle – the Group’s ERP system
- Cobase – the Group’s consolidated bank reporting and payment system
