Residential Security Officer – Richmond Area - £2,900 per 2-Week Rotation
About the role. A distinguished private residence near Richmond seeks a professional Residential Security Officer to provide night-time security and household support to the principal (an elderly titled lady), her family, guests, and staff.
This is a trusted position ideally suited to a UK military veteran or service leaver with proven reliability, integrity, and discretion. The successful candidate will maintain a secure environment, oversee property safety systems, and provide occasional support with household tasks and animal care.
Key Responsibilities
- Security and Property Oversight: Ensure the security and integrity of the estate at all times. Conduct regular checks of all gates, doors, windows, and perimeter fencing. Set and unset alarm systems (ADT) and monitor CCTV and fire alarms throughout the night.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any alarm activations or security incidents, recording and reporting actions taken. Liaise with security contractors (ADT) for maintenance or system repairs as required.
- Act as the primary point of contact for deliveries and out-of-hours visitors.
Household and Support Duties
- Drive the principal as required. Provide occasional night-time assistance to the principal (e.g., refreshments, newspapers, window shutters, etc.). Assist with arrivals and departures of family and guests.
- Provide additional cover in emergencies or during colleague absences.
Animal Care
- Walk, feed, and maintain the well-being of the household dogs, including grooming, training, and administering medication. Ensure the safety and control of dogs when staff or contractors are present.
- Manage feeding and care of chickens, including collecting eggs when required.
Candidate Profile
- Former UK Armed Forces personnel or individuals with a disciplined service background are strongly encouraged to apply. Proven experience in security operations, protection, or facilities management.
- High levels of discretion, reliability, and situational awareness. Physically fit and able to work independently on night duty.
- Confident, respectful, and adaptable with a strong sense of responsibility. Full UK driving licence essential. Full and up to date SIA CP licence, as well as a full background checks CRB will be required.
