Our client is delivering large-scale industrial construction projects across the UK and Europe and is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead the successful delivery of high-value developments across sectors including data centres, pharmaceuticals, logistics, and advanced manufacturing. This is a senior site-led role with full responsibility for programme delivery, operational performance, and project execution. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams in fast‑paced environments where delivery schedules are demanding and strong leadership is essential.

The role is particularly suited to experienced leaders from construction, engineering, infrastructure, or ex‑military operational leadership backgrounds who are accustomed to managing large teams, complex programmes, and high‑pressure delivery environments.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of major construction projects from early design coordination through to final completion and handover.
  • Lead the delivery of large-scale industrial construction projects.
  • Manage multiple workstreams across civils, structural, and MEP packages.
  • Drive programme performance and ensure key milestones are achieved.
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors, and delivery partners.
  • Maintain standards across safety, quality, and operational delivery.
  • Act as the key interface between the client, consultants, and project delivery teams.
  • Resolve issues proactively to maintain project momentum and programme performance.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale industrial or mission‑critical construction projects.
  • Strong background in fast‑track or high‑pressure delivery environments.
  • Confident leadership style with the ability to manage and challenge teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of programme management, sequencing, and project delivery.
  • Demonstrable track record of delivering projects to programme and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ideal Backgrounds
  • Large‑scale construction or infrastructure delivery experience.
  • Defence infrastructure or operational programmes experience.
