As a PCSO, you will be highly visible and act as a vital link between the public, police and partners. PCSOs carry out patrols, deal with anti‑social behaviour, gather intelligence and resolve community issues. Working closely with local authorities, businesses, and Neighbourhood Watch, PCSOs have various authoritative powers and assist in ensuring communities are safe and protected.

What is the difference between a PCSO and a police constable? PCSOs do not have powers of arrest, can only investigate minor offences and do not carry out the more complex and high‑risk tasks that police officers can perform.
