Plant Operator vacancy in Nationwide (170DM)
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Plant Operator with valid tickets across multiple machines to support a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, safety-conscious, and comfortable working on remote sites across the UK.
Our client specialises in delivering large-scale technical infrastructure projects, particularly in highly secure and regulated environments (predominantly MOD Sites).
Their expertise includes the design, installation, and commissioning of advanced communications networks—both domestic and international.
They work extensively with secure fibre network systems, radar and radio navigation technologies, and a wide range of IT and communications infrastructure, adhering to strict government and military standards.
Their services cover everything from underground ducting and cabling to full-spectrum ICT and C4I system installations.
They also offer tailored construction solutions, including roofing, groundwork, drainage, and access infrastructure. Additionally, they provide end-to-end project management, ensuring cost control, compliance, and high-quality execution tailored to complex client needs
Please note: This role involves working away from home, often for several weeks or months at a time, depending on site location.
Key Responsibilities:
-Operate a variety of plant machinery including:
-360 Excavator (Digger)
-Ride-on Roller
-Forward Tipping Dumper
-Telehandler
-Support site teams with groundworks and lifting operations
-Carry out daily machine checks and report any defects
-Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
-Assist with general site duties when not operating machinery
-Work closely with supervisors and follow site instructions accurately
Essential Requirements:
Valid tickets for:
-Digger (CPCS or NPORS)
-Roller
-Dumper
-Telehandler
-Proven experience operating on construction or infrastructure sites
-Strong understanding of plant safety procedures
-Physically fit and willing to assist with groundworks as needed
-Able to work as part of a team and take direction
-Full UK driving licence
Accommodation & Allowance:
-Accommodation provided while working away (Airbnb-style housing)
-Daily food allowance/subsistence provided
Desirable:
-CSCS Card
-First Aid trained
-Additional groundworks experience
