Ex‑Mil Recruitment is working with a high‑profile private client who requires a professional, discreet and highly dependable Driver / Handyman to support a Principal and family across residences in London and Gloucestershire. This position would particularly suit a veteran from a disciplined operational background who is confident working independently, takes pride in presentation and standards, and is comfortable operating within a private household environment. The successful candidate will become a trusted member of the household team, responsible for chauffeuring duties, vehicle management, property maintenance and practical day‑to‑day support. This is a varied and rewarding role requiring flexibility, discretion, initiative and a “can‑do” attitude. The client is looking to appoint someone quickly, with availability to start in early June highly desirable.

Chauffeur Duties

  • Safely transport the Principal and family members to and from appointments, meetings and social engagements
  • Maintain full responsibility for the household vehicle fleet, approximately 10 vehicles, including luxury vehicles
  • Ensure all vehicles are presented to an exceptional standard at all times
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
  • Coordinate servicing, MOTs and vehicle‑related administration
  • Plan routes effectively, accounting for traffic and changing conditions
  • Assist passengers with luggage and personal belongings
  • Provide a professional, discreet and reliable service at all times
  • Remain flexible to changing schedules and last‑minute requirements
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism are maintained at all times

Handyman / Estate Support Duties

  • Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs across the Principal’s properties
  • Support with practical household and estate‑related tasks
  • Undertake basic gardening and external upkeep duties
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers and tradespeople to ensure work is completed to a high standard
  • Assist the wider household team where required
  • Help maintain the overall presentation and smooth operation of the properties

Candidate Requirements

  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • Previous chauffeur, driving, security, estates or household experience advantageous
  • Comfortable driving luxury and high‑value vehicles
  • Strong practical maintenance and handyman skills
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Trustworthy, discreet and professional
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
