A busy South East civil engineering and groundworks business is looking for an experienced Groundworker to join their site teams. If youâve come from a trade background, engineering, plant, RE, or youâve spent your career working to plans, hitting standards, and getting the job done safely, youâll fit in well here.
This is handsâon work across excavation, drainage, concrete, kerbing, paving and surfacing, supporting building and civils projects to a high standard.
What youâll be doing:
- Site prep & setâout: clear, level and prepare sites to spec; plan materials/equipment ahead of tasks
- Excavation: dig trenches for foundations, drainage and utilities (hand tools and/or machinery), keeping to depth and safety requirements
- Concrete works: mix/pour/finish concrete for slabs, paths and foundations; install formwork and reinforcement
- Drainage & pipework: install pipes, manholes and soakaways; ensure correct fall/levels, sealing and testing; brickwork to manholes/gulleys/service pits
- Utilities: lay services (water/gas/electrical conduits) in line with regulations
- Surfacing & hard landscaping: tarmac, block paving, kerbs, slabs; compact and finish for durability
- Plant & kit: operate (where ticketed) and carry out basic checks/maintenance
- H&S: work safely, use PPE correctly, report nearâmisses, keep the site tidy and compliant
