My client, due to a massive uptake of business, has asked us again to assist in sourcing a Compliance Engineer as they are industry leaders in transport compliance solutions, operating in the road transport sector (HGV & LGV) and the passenger transport sector (PSV & PCV). They provide vehicle inspection, audit of government paperwork, and training to ensure that their clients do not fall foul of governing authority legislation on transport and vehicle matters.

They are now seeking to recruit an additional team member to join their expanding team based in the Midlands Region. After training, the new member will be responsible for visiting companies covering the whole of the UK to ensure compliance with regulations and offering flexible solutions and training to meet individual needs.

  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good communication skills, as you will be dealing with clients daily
  • A keen eye on procedures and policies, and the ability to communicate them at a level which can be understood
  • Decision making advice that is based upon fact and the current guidance provided by governing bodies such as the Traffic Commissioner’s office and/or the DVSA
  • Ability to work within deadlines when handling accredited work
  • Ensuring assessments are completed within the framework set by the awarding body, protecting the centre from adverse feedback
  • Maintaining knowledge with regular CPD to remain at the forefront of your sector

The ideal candidate would probably come from either RLC, REME or MTO background, probably at SNCO level, who is able to use real-life experiences while carrying out the role, and who is willing to spend possibly 3 to 4 nights a week away from home most of the year.

In return, they are offering an excellent starting salary, company car, pension, and overnight allowance, with training expected to last between three to six months depending on ability and knowledge. You would be expected to move up to a salary of £40k at the end of this period.
