Are you ex‐military, well‐connected within the Defence and Military sectors, with either a Land or Air domain specialism, and ready to put your commercial sales skills to use? If you have at least 1 year of sales experience in a commercial environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
A background or working knowledge of training simulation would be highly advantageous. For Air specialists, Fleet Air Arm, Fixed Rotary Wing, Joint Air Domain, Fast Jet, Joint Air Service, all beneficial.
Our client, a well‐established provider of hardware and IT managed services to the Defence and wider business sectors, is growing their Defence sales team and seeking a passionate, motivated Defence Account Manager – one Air domain specialist and one Land domain specialist.
This role combines both business development and account management, offering the chance to grow your own customer base while building strong, lasting relationships. You'll report directly to a supportive and people‐focused Sales Director. You will be tasked to meet or exceed monthly sales targets by developing a solid customer account base and providing exceptional customer service. You'll play a key role in growing the company's Defence business.
Key Responsibilities- Achieve or exceed set monthly sales targets as defined within the contractual offering or as advised to you by line management.
- Act as the single point of contact for your customer, actively and professionally resolving their queries or issues whilst managing and maintaining expectations.
- Demonstrate top performance by using proven sales skills to convert prospects/accounts and leads into active spending accounts.
- Pro‐actively grow your sales pipeline and win new customers through expanding on existing business leads and generating your own new business opportunities.
- Seek support, assistance and additional training where you identify a weakness of skill or knowledge.
- Through business development, turn accounts and leads into active spending accounts by nurturing relationships and maintaining an ongoing professional relationship.
- Keeping abreast of new products and offerings, proactively promote and develop brand awareness of the client's PCs, notebooks, servers, components, peripherals, licensing and connected services to all customers.
- Utilise the various systems to accurately maintain a customer history and use this information to maximise long‐term profitable relationships and build on existing and new business plans.
- Liaise with your direct line manager and other members of the Business Sales team on a regular basis to ensure excellent communication, knowledge enhancement and sharing, along with teamwork and relationships.
- Record prospects and client activity on internal systems, and follow‐up as appropriate.
