An established seaside attraction is seeking a Mechanical or Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer/Technician to support and ultimately lead a maintenance team responsible for critical equipment and infrastructure. This role suits individuals who thrive in high‑tempo environments, take pride in reliability and safety, and are confident taking ownership of complex systems.
The Role: You will play a key role in maintaining and repairing rides, mechanical systems, and associated equipment ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This position offers a clear pathway into team leadership for those with supervisory experience or the ambition to step up as the current manager is seeking to retire in the future.
What They are Looking For:
- Strong mechanical background (Level 3 qualification or equivalent; higher preferred)
- Proven experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical systems
- Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Comfortable using digital tools (tablet/computer‑based tasking systems)
- Solid understanding of safety, compliance, and maintenance procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Experience working both independently and within a structured team
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or training personnel is highly desirable
- Knowledge of LEAN, continuous improvement, or workshop/store management practices
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial or operational maintenance environment
Operational Environment:
- Working at height (up to 10 metres) and in confined or inspection spaces
- Lifting and handling equipment (individually and as part of a team)
- Climbing, walking, bending, and working across varied terrain and elevations
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
