Overview
Our client is seeking an HVAC Project Lead to take ownership of the full delivery of engineering projects — from design through installation and handover. You will ensure every project meets its requirements, legislative standards, and is delivered on time, on budget, and safely.
Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination
- Develop schedules and milestones, and coordinate all project activities
- Liaise with design engineers, contractors, and suppliers
- Ensure project scope aligns with client requirements
- Provide technical input during project meetings
- Technical Oversight
- Review and validate HVAC designs and drawings
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (e.g., Dw144), and specifications
- Approve equipment selections and submittals
- Resolve technical challenges during design and construction
- Site Execution & Supervision
- Monitor installation activities to ensure quality and safety
- Conduct site inspections and verify work against drawings
- Coordinate commissioning and testing of systems
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and progress reports
- Prepare handover documents and O&M manuals
- Track project costs and support budget control
- Report progress to stakeholders and escalate issues as needed
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate with clients to clarify requirements and expectations
- Deliver technical presentations and updates
- Manage client feedback and ensure satisfaction
- Support post-installation troubleshooting and warranty issues
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services
- Expertise in design and fabrication/assembly of packaged plant rooms
- Experience with modular design and manufacture
- Knowledge of industry standards and legislation, including CE marking
- Customer-facing experience with strong commercial awareness
- Skilled in requirements management, configuration, and change control
- Ideally experienced in HVAC design for bespoke mechanical equipment, particularly in Nuclear applications
- Experience managing full project lifecycle from tender to delivery
- Conversant with RIBA standards
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to gain and hold SC clearance
