We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering organisation seeking an experienced Lead Engineer / Infrastructure Supervisor to oversee the delivery of a major structured cabling and network infrastructure project in the Guildford area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced military communications and infrastructure specialist looking for a hands-on supervisory contract within a professional engineering environment.

The Role
You’ll take responsibility for leading a team of engineers delivering structured cabling and network infrastructure installations while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety and customer service. Although this is a supervisory position, you’ll also be expected to remain technically involved where required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise structured cabling installation teams.
- Oversee copper and fibre installation, testing and commissioning.
- Coordinate subcontractors and engineering resources.
- Act as the main point of contact between engineers, project management and the customer.
- Conduct toolbox talks, site inspections and quality audits.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation and project standards.
- Produce site documentation including RAMS and survey reports.
- Support fault finding, moves, adds and changes (MACs) and project completion activities.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely on time and to the required quality standards.
We’re Looking for someone with:
- Strong background in structured cabling and physical infrastructure installation.
- Experience supervising engineering teams on live projects.
- Good knowledge of copper and fibre systems.
- Experience working within regulated or secure environments.
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to produce technical documentation and site reports.
- Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance.

- Royal Signals
- Royal Engineers (Communications)
- RAF CIS or Communications Specialists
- Royal Navy Communications & Information Systems
- Or infrastructure or communications engineering appointments.
