Role Purpose: Lead the development of capability frameworks, career pathways, and professional development approaches for Data Architecture and Information Architecture communities. Ensure capability development is aligned with organisational needs and recognised professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define capability frameworks aligned to GDAT and GKIM standards.
  • Identify capability gaps and map skills, competencies, and progression expectations across Data Architecture and Information Architecture roles.
  • Design and implement professional development pathways, including learning, mentoring, coaching, and practical application opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain knowledge repositories, architecture ways of working, and supporting collaboration platforms.
  • Promote a NATO-first approach and alignment with wider Defence initiatives where appropriate.
  • Integrate capability development activities into Community of Practice engagement.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure capability frameworks support organisational priorities and future workforce requirements.
  • Develop guidance and supporting materials to enable consistent capability development across the profession.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience developing capability frameworks, competency models, or workforce development strategies.
  • Strong business architecture, organisational design, or business analysis background.
  • Experience conducting skills assessments and gap analysis.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical capability development plans.
  • Must have SC clearance.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of GDAT, GKIM, or similar professional frameworks.
  • Experience in Defence, Government, or large complex organisations.
  • Experience supporting professional communities or capability functions.
