The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 Β£ per year.

Role Purpose: Develop, manage, and grow the Data Architecture and Information Architecture Communities of Practice across Defence. Drive community engagement, knowledge sharing, and professional collaboration while supporting the creation of reusable outputs, standards, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Progress Community of Practice maturity using the Emily Webber Community Maturity Model.
  • Identify, engage, and onboard community members from across Defence organisations.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate regular Community of Practice events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Capture and disseminate tacit knowledge, lessons learned, architecture patterns, and success stories.
  • Support the development of reusable outputs, including standards, guidance, templates, and reference materials.
  • Build engagement across GDAT, GKIM, CDAIO, and wider Defence stakeholder communities.
  • Maintain community communication channels and collaboration platforms.
  • Measure community engagement, participation, and maturity, recommending improvements where required.
  • Support collaboration between technical specialists, practitioners, and senior stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience establishing, managing, or supporting Communities of Practice.
  • Strong communication, engagement, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience organising workshops, events, and collaborative forums.
  • Knowledge management and community-building experience.
  • Ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Must have SC clearance.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience within Defence, Government, or complex organisations.
  • Familiarity with architecture, data, information management, or digital professions.
  • Knowledge of the Emily Webber Community Maturity Model.
  • Experience developing community guidance, communications, and engagement strategies.
