Overview

We are seeking an experienced Information Assurance (IA) Consultant to support high-profile Defence programmes across the South West. This role works with key MOD stakeholders to ensure security, governance, and risk management activities are delivered to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Information Assurance and security consultancy across Defence projects and programmes.
  • Support security accreditation and assurance activities in line with MOD and government standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide pragmatic risk management recommendations.
  • Produce and review security documentation, policies and assurance artefacts.
  • Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood and implemented.
  • Support governance, compliance and audit activities.
  • Contribute to security architecture reviews and secure-by-design initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on security controls, cyber risk and information governance.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Information Assurance, Cyber Security, Information Security, or Security Risk Management.
  • Experience within MOD, Defence, Government or other highly regulated environments.
  • Experience with security assurance, governance, compliance activities.
  • Experience with risk assessment and risk management.
  • Experience with security accreditation and assurance processes.
  • Stakeholder engagement and consultancy experience.
  • Competence in producing high-quality security documentation and reports.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • CISSP, CISM, ISO 27001, CCP or equivalent security qualifications.
  • Experience supporting Defence Digital, DE&S, Army or wider MOD organisations.
  • Knowledge of JSP 440, NCSC guidance and Secure by Design principles.

Security Requirements

Security‐cleared candidates with current SC or DV clearance are required. Applicants must hold active clearance at the time of application.
