Overview

Our client is a leading demolition and remediation contractor, delivering projects ranging in value from £100k to over £20m. With a directly employed workforce and a modern, in‑house plant fleet, they self‑deliver the majority of their works across sites nationwide. Their continued success is driven by technical expertise, operational excellence, and a strong commitment to quality and safety. This role is for an experienced and highly organised Technical Co-ordinator to support our client's demolition operations team. This role plays a pivotal part in the planning, organisation, and coordination of the administrative and operational aspects of demolition projects. Acting as a key communication link between Directors, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, statutory bodies, and clients, the Technical Co-ordinator ensures projects are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage service disconnections, isolations, diversions, and adaptations, coordinating all planning, liaison, and logistics with statutory providers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all service‑related activities are completed in line with the contract programme and site‑specific constraints.
  • Coordinate site mobilisation, permitting, and security arrangements.
  • Track project milestones, deadlines, and key deliverables.
  • Arrange and manage site testing regimes in accordance with project specifications.
  • Identify suitable waste facilities and arrange required testing to enable compliant waste disposal and material movements.
  • Assist in the development of project timelines, work plans, and schedules.
  • Act as a critical communication link between internal departments and external bodies.
  • Prepare, manage, and maintain regulatory documentation, including hazardous materials reports, permits, safety records, and service disconnection confirmations.
  • Coordinate asbestos surveying, sampling, and other material testing in accordance with legislation and project specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate equipment provision, waste removal, and material recycling.
  • Schedule and facilitate site meetings and inspections.
  • Prepare and issue all site documentation in line with the contracted scope of works prior to site commencement.
  • Support live projects by monitoring activity across multiple sites.
  • Track budgets, expenses, and invoicing in collaboration with the finance team.
  • Provide support in the preparation of bids and tenders.
  • Visit project sites to monitor progress and provide coordination support as required.
  • Identify, address, and elevate issues to senior management.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Sound knowledge of demolition processes, construction terminology, and safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and hazardous material handling.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in construction, demolition, or environmental remediation.
  • NEBOSH qualification or equivalent NVQ safety training is advantageous.
