Aircraft Fitters vacancy in Filton – Bristol (148DM)
Contract role – 12 months. End date: 26/08/2026. Intake is for 18 August 2025.
As a Skilled Aircraft Fitter, you’ll join the Build Production team, directly contributing to the assembly of some of the most advanced aircraft in the skies. You will also be able to enjoy a consistent Monday–Thursday shift pattern (6:30 am-3:45 pm).
Responsibilities
- Interpret and work from engineering instructions and detailed aircraft drawings
- Use power tools for tasks including drilling, shimming, and sealing
- Complete all work to precise technical and quality standards
- Perform 1st party certification following relevant training
- Carry out work in confined spaces, including access through oval-shaped manholes for internal wing work
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Completed Full Apprenticeship in Aerospace or Engineering
- Experience using hand tools and prior work in a fitter/assembly operator role
- Comfortable working at heights and within confined spaces
- Assembling A400M
- Must have completed an apprenticeship within an engineering discipline i.e., sheet metal worker, aircraft or maintenance technician, tool maker, fitter/turner
- Must hold NVQ L2 + L3 or equivalent in engineering
Relevant certification
- Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2
- BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate
- NVQ Level 2 or 3
- Key Skills Level 2 in a recognised engineering field
