Our client specialises in building bespoke, high-quality basements for private self-build projects and is looking for reliable, hands-on Construction Workers to join their team – starting October/November.

An excellent opportunity to transfer military, engineering, logistics, transport or practical/operational experience into a civilian construction career. Formal civilian construction qualifications are not essential for candidates with the right transferable skills. Full training will be provided.

Military experience may be particularly relevant if you have worked in Royal Engineers, REME, engineering, logistics, transport, equipment, plant, machinery, vehicle operations or physically demanding environments.

Working as part of an experienced team, you will assist with bespoke basements and ground-bearing slabs, helping turn architects' and engineers' plans into completed structures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting tradespeople and machine operators
  • Loading, unloading and transporting materials/equipment
  • Driving materials/equipment to and from project sites
  • Using hand tools, drills, pneumatic hammers and other equipment
  • Mixing, preparing and applying concrete, cement, grout and other materials
  • Assisting with basement, groundwork, precast concrete, reinforcement and formwork
  • Keeping equipment, materials and work areas clean and organised
  • Following Health & Safety, quality and client procedures
  • Working as part of a team to deliver high-quality work

Essential:

  • Relevant construction experience, particularly concrete, groundwork, precast concrete, reinforcement, formwork or related activities (transferable military experience will also be considered)
  • Good practical, hands-on approach
  • Comfortable working in physically demanding environments
  • Able to follow instructions, procedures and Health & Safety requirements
  • Good team-working skills and strong work ethic
  • Good spoken and written English
  • Clean driving licence B + BE, or C1+E
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Valid CSCS Card, if available

What you’ll get:

  • Permanent, full-time position - £18/hour for 1st 6 months then increased.
  • On-site construction training tailored to your existing skills

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

Location: Meet in Surrey each morning and travel with the team to UK-wide project sites.
