My client, established in 1994, is a leader in the delivery of high‑quality passive cabling solutions for the defence and other sectors. We are seeking additional engineers to join their established team in the Warrington/Liverpool region. Due to the nature of this recruitment consultancy, we are only able to represent individuals who are ex‑military.
You will report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for internal and external copper and fibre cabling installations. Tasks include installation, termination, and testing of cabling to the highest standards, and deployment of containment systems such as conduit, trunking, tray, and basket. Work will be conducted in a variety of environments – offices, manufacturing plants, construction sites, and data centres – with occasional travel and overnight stays. We are looking for dependable, enthusiastic engineers to join the core delivery team at Level 1, 2, or 3.
Key Responsibilities- Level 1 (L1)
- Install, terminate, and test Cat6/Cat6a and fibre cabling
- Carry out containment and pathway installations
- Diagnose and rectify faults in structured cabling systems
- Install Wi‑Fi access points, UPS units, and related equipment
- Follow all safety standards, risk assessments, and method statements
- Complete job documentation to company standards
- Support wider business operations as needed
- Create and manage site‑specific risk assessments and method statements
- Oversee project delivery to deadlines
- Conduct site surveys and produce technical documentation
- Liaise with clients and provide regular updates
- Recommend solutions and assist with project change control
- Essential
- CSCS/ECS site card
- Full UK driving licence
- Industry training (IPAF, PASMA)
- Strong technical understanding of data/fibre installations
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills
- Flexible, organised, and detail‑oriented
- SC Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- 3+ years’ experience in structured cabling installations
- CNET CNCI qualification
- Experience in defence, manufacturing, or data centre environments
- Knowledge of JSP453, Tempest/Security regulations
- Good starting salary circa £25 k – £40 k depending on experience and knowledge
- 40‑hour work week, 22 days holiday + bank holidays
