Overview
Our client is seeking experienced Site Managers to support the delivery of a strong pipeline of construction and infrastructure projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, delivery-focused professional with experience managing live construction sites, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Projects span a range of sectors, including industrial, logistics, data centres, defence, energy, civil engineering, refurbishment, infrastructure, and major building developments.
This role is particularly well suited to ex-military personnel with leadership experience gained within engineering, construction, infrastructure, logistics, or operational environments.
The Role
As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site operations, ensuring safe and efficient delivery while maintaining programme, quality, and compliance standards.
Working closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, consultants, and client representatives, you will coordinate all site activities and provide visible leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Operations
- Manage day-to-day operations across live construction projects.
- Coordinate subcontractors, direct labour, suppliers, and site logistics.
- Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, within scope, and to the required quality standards.
- Plan labour, materials, and plant requirements to support efficient site delivery.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, environmental, and quality culture.
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular site inspections.
- Review and implement RAMS, permits, and safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client safety requirements.
- Programme & Project Delivery
- Monitor progress against programme milestones.
- Identify delays, risks, and constraints, escalating issues where appropriate.
- Support look-ahead planning and short-term scheduling activities.
- Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, site diaries, and photographic evidence.
- Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with Project Managers, Construction Managers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate site activities to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.
- Support project handover, snagging, and completion activities.
- What Client’s Looking For
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, Construction Manager, Works Manager, General Foreman, or similar site leadership role.
- Strong background in construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, industrial, logistics, defence, energy, refurbishment, or major building projects.
- Excellent understanding of site operations, subcontractor coordination, and construction sequencing.
- Experience managing live construction sites with responsibility for health and safety, programme delivery, and quality.
- Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Practical, proactive, and solutions-focused approach.
- Willingness to travel or work on project sites across the UK.
