Do you want to join a team that delivers mission-critical communications infrastructure across the UK? We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our client's Engineering Team, working alongside Field Engineers, System Engineers, and Principal Engineers. You'll be instrumental in designing and delivering advanced wireless and IP-based communication systems, supporting complex projects that keep essential services connected.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Designing bespoke wireless telecommunications systems tailored to customer needs
- Planning and delivering complex radio systems and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) projects
- Conducting network planning, prediction, and optimization across LAN/WAN environments
- Performing system maintenance and incident response within SLA timeframes
- Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance visits to ensure system integrity
- Collaborating across departments to ensure seamless delivery of multi-technology solutions
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Lead or contribute to project delivery from pre-sales to final implementation
- Provide technical support for installations, upgrades, and maintenance
- Manage technical documentation, timesheets, expenses, and system updates
- Participate in an on-call rota and be open to travel, including overnight stays
- Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Actively contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement
What We’re Looking For:
You’re a technically strong, experienced engineer with a deep understanding of wireless communications and IP infrastructure. You take ownership, thrive in dynamic environments, and can communicate effectively with clients and colleagues alike.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on experience with DMR Tier 2/3 radio systems (Hytera, TAIT, Simoco, Motorola, Sepura, Kenwood)
- Deep knowledge of RF systems including Axell Wireless (PBE), DAS design, and installation
- Proficient in DAS design tools, link budget calculations, and technical drawing creation
- Skilled in preventative maintenance and fault-finding (e.g., PIM testing, cable testing)
- Strong foundation in networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN), Unified Comms, and database systems
- Solid client-facing communication and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a high-performing team
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of GSM, fixed line, microwave, and M2M solutions
- Wi-Fi installation and maintenance experience
- CSCS card (Green)
- SC Clearance
- Valid manual UK driving license
- Eligibility for airside pass (5-year employment/gap history)
