An exciting opportunity has arisen within a growing organisation with a fantastic working culture, that offers exposure to cutting-edge Defence technologies and combines the agility of an SME with the impact of working on nationally significant programmes. Our client is seeking a Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of innovative solutions supporting Defence experimentation, technology demonstrations, capability trials and multinational programmes.

This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of Defence innovation, helping customers assess emerging technologies and transition new concepts into operational capability. If you have experience delivering complex Defence programmes, military exercises, capability demonstrations or large-scale technical solutions, this could be an outstanding next step.

You will provide technical leadership across a portfolio of Defence and National Security programmes, ensuring operational requirements, technology solutions and future capability outcomes remain aligned. Working alongside senior Defence stakeholders, industry partners and technical teams, you will help shape solutions that address real-world operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture Leadership - Lead solution architecture activities across complex Defence programmes.
  • Provide technical authority and design leadership, define architecture standards, governance and best practice.
  • Defence Experimentation & Demonstrations - Support capability experimentation and operational assessments. Lead technical planning for demonstrations and exercises. Deliver technology evaluation, enable interoperability across Defence and multinational environments.
  • Innovation & Future Capability - Assess and integrate emerging technologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Build trusted relationships with Defence and Government customers. Engage with senior military, industry and technical stakeholders. Support business growth activities, opportunity development and bids.

This role will suit individuals with experience in Solution Architecture, Systems Engineering, Defence Capability Development, Defence Experimentation, Military Exercises, Operational Analysis, Technical Programme Leadership, Defence Digital Transformation, Defence Innovation Programmes.

We are particularly interested in hearing from Service Leavers, Veterans and Defence professionals who have operated within complex technical or operational environments.

  • Significant Solution Architecture experience.
  • Leading technical teams and specialists.
  • Defence or National Security environments.
  • Secure and classified systems.
  • Technical governance and Design Authority responsibilities.
  • Customer-facing consultancy experience.
  • Stakeholder engagement at senior levels.
