Production & R&D Technician (126dm) in Chippenham

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Production & R&D Technicians to support the design, development, and manufacture of advanced composite components. This role involves working with cutting‑edge composite materials across both production and research environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manufacture components using composite materials (e.g. carbon fibre)
• Work with resins and fibre materials during lay‑up and production processes
• Support R&D activities including prototyping and testing
• Prepare materials, moulds, and tooling for production
• Operate manufacturing equipment and follow technical processes
• Inspect, trim, and finish composite parts to quality standards
• Work collaboratively with engineers and production teams

Candidate Requirements

Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience working with composite materials (e.g. carbon fibre, fibreglass)
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high‑quality work (no cutting corners)
• Understanding of composite manufacturing processes (lay‑up, curing, moulding, etc.)
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and comfortable in a technical environment

Entry‑Level Candidates:

• No prior composite experience required
• Background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar hands‑on role is beneficial
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and precision

Salary & Progression

• Experienced candidates can earn into the £40,000+ range
• Entry‑level candidates typically start between £28,000 – £33,000
