Are you ex-military with a background in vehicle maintenance, equipment repair, engineering or technical support? Looking for a hands-on civilian role where your practical skills, attention to detail and disciplined approach are valued?
Our client is looking for a Depot Engineer to join its Major Repairs Team, carrying out repairs, fault-finding and planned maintenance on a range of equipment. This is an opportunity to put your technical experience to good use, work alongside a skilled team and build a long-term civilian career.
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out major repairs, refurbishment work and fault diagnosis on equipment.
- Completing planned maintenance to keep equipment safe and operational.
- Managing spare parts and accurately recording stock and usage.
- Updating job records using a mobile tablet system.
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Supporting colleagues and other depots when required.
We’re particularly interested in candidates with practical experience gained in the Armed Forces or a similar technical environment. You could have worked with vehicles, plant, machinery, tools or specialist equipment.
You’ll bring
- Hands-on repair, maintenance or fault-finding experience.
- A methodical approach and pride in doing a job properly.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a strong focus on safety.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
You don’t need to have held the title of Depot Engineer. If your military trade or previous role has given you relevant technical and maintenance skills, we’d like to hear from you.
What’s on offer?
- £29,000 annual salary
- Permanent, full-time employment.
- Monday-Friday working pattern, 40 hours per week.
- Overtime opportunities to increase your earnings.
- Varied, practical work within a dedicated major repairs team.
