We are looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the hospitality and retail sectors. This role is focused on identifying, engaging, and converting operators to adopt our payments solutions. You will play a key role in expanding our market presence and revenue through strategic prospecting and deal execution. You will be responsible for selling payments solutions to customers across multiple brands within our group, tailoring your approach to meet the unique needs of each brand's client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the hospitality and retail industries, including restaurants, pubs, bars, hotels, multi-site operators, and retail chains.
- Qualify inbound leads and generate outbound opportunities through cold outreach, referrals, and industry networking.
- Conduct discovery calls, product demos, and tailored presentations to decision-makers (e.g. operations directors, finance leads, venue managers, retail heads).
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract signature, including proposal development and commercial negotiation.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Maintain a well-documented and up-to-date sales pipeline using CRM tools (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce).
- Collaborate with marketing to shape messaging and support targeted campaigns for the hospitality and retail verticals.
- Provide market feedback to inform product development and pricing strategies specific to sector needs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in selling payment solutions, ideally within the hospitality or retail sectors.
- Demonstrated success in new business acquisition with consistent overachievement of sales targets.
- Strong understanding of operational challenges in hospitality and retail environments, particularly around payments and POS integrations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience selling into hospitality groups, retail chains, franchises, or independent operators.
- Familiarity with EPOS systems, payment gateways, or merchant services.
- Self-starter with a high level of energy, resilience, and commercial curiosity.
- Comfortable working independently and remotely.
