Email Marketing Executive - CRB Cunninghams UK
About the role
We’re looking for a skilled and driven Email Marketing Executive who’s passionate about building impactful, data-driven email automation that generates real results. You’ll be the go-to person for all things email automation — from creating and managing workflows to analysing and improving key performance stats. Your primary goal will be to increase the number of marketing-qualified leads and the value of sales opportunities across the business.
The successful candidate will join the industry-leading providers of cashless catering, identity management, and online payment systems to over 3,300 UK education establishments. The Email Marketing Executive will be passionate about creating compelling content that promotes our brand, products, and services whilst cementing our market-leading position within our industry. The successful candidate will be good at managing their time whilst working on a range of compelling messages, creating workflows, and assisting in executing successful lead-generating campaigns, with a keen eye for design and complete respect for deadlines. It is important that the candidate can work well within the team and independently, reporting directly to the Marketing Manager.
Key responsibilities:
Build and manage advanced email automation workflows across the customer lifecycle, including lead nurturing, onboarding, re-engagement, upsell and retention journeys.
Collaborate with the wider marketing and sales teams to identify automation opportunities across different customer touchpoints.
Monitor and report on email automation performance – open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and other key KPIs – with clear insights and actions to improve results.
Proactively develop and test new email strategies to drive higher lead generation and increase the value of opportunities.
Integrate email automation with website activity to deliver real-time, behaviour-based campaigns and personalised experiences.
Maintain and improve data integrity within the CRM (Salesforce) – including identifying data issues, cleansing records, and ensuring high-quality contact data is used in email communications.
Own the relationship between the website, CRM, and email platform, ensuring seamless tracking, lead capture, and campaign delivery.
Assist with regular audits of contact data and segmentation strategies to improve targeting and campaign effectiveness.
Stay up to date with email marketing best practices, tools, and compliance requirements.
Support wider marketing campaigns and initiatives as needed — including campaign planning, content coordination, landing pages, or other digital activities — to ensure cohesive execution and performance across channels.
Essential Skills:
2+ years of hands-on experience in email marketing and automation, preferably using platforms like Act-On or similar – i.e. HubSpot, Pardot, Marketo, etc.
Strong understanding of email funnel strategy and lead nurturing.
Solid grasp of website tracking, including cookies, form tracking, lead capture integrations, and how they can power automation.
Experience with Salesforce CRM – managing campaigns, data, and contact records.
Proficient in reporting and analytics, able to turn data into clear insights and actionable strategies.
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and ownership mindset.
Highly Desirable Skills:
Experience with HTML/CSS for email design tweaks
Knowledge of SEO or content marketing strategies
Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics or GA4
Marketing experience in the Education Sector
Successful candidates will have a proactive, optimistic, “can do”, solutions-driven, approach that is both pragmatic and commercially viable. They will be an excellent team player with strong demonstrable evidence of influencing and the ability to forge strong internal and external working relationships.
Salary will be commensurate with experience and job responsibilities. We offer excellent benefits.
The role is remote-based, but the successful candidate will be expected to visit our office for monthly team meetings and quarterly company town hall meetings.
Only candidates who are eligible to live and work in the UK need apply.
