Company Description
EWM Financial Planning is a modern wealth management and financial planning firm. We're objective, whole-of-market, technical, and fast, and we are looking to change the way financial planning is done - driving down costs and optimising investment performance. We do this through deep research and constant change and improvement in all the tools that we use, from platforms to investment management to in-house and external tech. We are trusted with the management of over £100m after a short 4-year stint, and we have a great team of experts from which to deliver a one-off tailored mentorship program to the right candidates.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Trainee Financial Planner role based in Sywell. The Trainee Financial Planner will support the advisory team in gathering and analysing client financial information, including income, assets, liabilities, and goals. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing reports and illustrations, assisting with the creation of holistic financial plans, and, under supervision, helping with retirement, investment, and protection planning recommendations. The role will involve participating in client meetings, documenting outcomes, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in structured learning, pursue relevant professional qualifications, and contribute to a client‑centred, ethical advice process. The right candidate will be fast‑tracked to a financial planning role after 2 years of structured rotations and training.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge or strong interest in Financial Planning and Personal Financial Planning, with a commitment to developing expertise in holistic advice.

- Motivation to work toward Chartered Financial Planner or equivalent professional certifications as career progresses.

- Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain financial concepts in plain language.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and client‑centred mindset, aligned with a long‑term relationship‑based advice model.
- Ability to work effectively on‑site in Sywell within a small team environment, managing time and tasks proactively.
- Relevant degree (e.g., Finance, Economics, Business, or related field).
