Overview

Plater/Welder role at EW Recruitment Services in the Newton Aycliffe area. We are partnering with a well-established fabrication company seeking dedicated and proficient Plater/Welders. This role offers day shifts, with the opportunity to work permanent nights if preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding and plating tasks on structural steel components.
  • MIG welding
  • Reading engineering drawings
  • Set up welding equipment and select appropriate techniques.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure welds meet quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and industry regulations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Structural Steel Welder or similar role.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their welding characteristics.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be expected to undertake a weld test if successful for an interview.

Working 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
