Technical Support Engineer – Building Services & Controls Location: East Anglia (Hybrid Working Available) Monday to Friday Salary: Competitive Salary + Company Benefits Building Services | BMS | HVAC | Controls | Technical Support | Fault Finding | Commissioning An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Support Engineer with a background in Building Services, BMS or HVAC controls to join a growing technical engineering team. This is a technically focused role supporting complex building services applications, fault investigation and product performance. Working alongside engineering, service and product teams, you'll provide expert technical support on mechanical products integrated with Building Management Systems and controls. This is not a sales role. It's an opportunity for an engineer who enjoys diagnosing technical issues, understanding how building systems interact and helping deliver robust engineering solutions. The Role As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll become the technical escalation point for complex engineering queries, supporting customers and colleagues with fault diagnosis and product performance. Your responsibilities will include: * Investigating technical issues relating to HVAC products, controls and Building Management Systems. * Providing second-line technical support for complex customer enquiries. * Analysing site reports, technical documentation and engineering drawings to identify root causes. * Supporting fault diagnosis involving controllers, actuators, sensors and mechanical equipment. * Reviewing returned products and working with engineering, quality and operations teams to determine root cause. * Providing technical guidance to service engineers and customers. * Attending customer sites when required to support investigations and technical reviews. * Maintaining accurate technical records within CRM systems. * Identifying recurring issues and recommending product or documentation improvements. * Supporting continuous improvement across technical support, product performance and engineering processes. About You We're looking for an engineer with a strong understanding of Building Services systems who enjoys technical problem solving and working across mechanical and controls disciplines. You'll ideally have: * HNC, HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline. * Experience working within Building Services, HVAC, BMS, controls or commissioning. * Good understanding of HVAC plant and how mechanical equipment integrates with Building Management Systems. * Experience fault finding on systems incorporating controllers, sensors, actuators and associated controls. * Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation. * Experience carrying out root cause analysis and technical investigations. * Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly. * Experience using CRM or service management systems. * Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites when required. Experience in commissioning, controls integration or BMS programming would be advantageous but is not essential.
