We are currently recruiting for a Scientist (Bioanalysis) to join the Analytical Sciences Team in Alderley Park.
As a Scientist you will be primarily laboratory‑based, working with our skilled team to ensure that Analytical Sciences assays—both commercial and R&D focused—are performed to a high standard and within scheduled timeframes. In addition, you will support the training and development of staff, improving knowledge and processes.

Key Responsibilities
Scientific
- Conduct routine and bespoke Analytical Sciences LC‑MS/MS assays (manually and using liquid‑handling robots).
- Apply scientific knowledge to data analysis, interpretation and troubleshooting.
- Manage assigned assays; plan and deliver them, communicating effectively with team members and study managers.
- Support senior team members with assay development, validation and design of bespoke assays, including sample preparation.
- Report errors and erroneous results to supervisor with minimal delay.
- Stay up to date with scientific advances and regulatory guidelines in Analytical Sciences.
- Ensure laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order after tasks.
- Monitor and maintain consumables stock, liaising with internal buyers and external suppliers.
- Document activities accurately and completely as required by SOPs and Quality policies.
People
- Coach and mentor associate scientists and colleagues on assay execution and data analysis.
- Treat all colleagues with dignity and respect.
Business
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and assay design; support senior scientists in reviewing and implementing improvements.
- Perform work to an exceptionally high standard, within specified timeframes, adhering strictly to safety regulations and QC procedures.
Self
- Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times in the workplace.
- Participate in mandatory training required for the role.
- Keep personal training record up to date and discuss any gaps with supervisor.
- Submit timesheets on time, following finance guidance.
- Participate in Evotalks and agree on personal targets and expectations with supervisor.
- Take on any other reasonable tasks assigned by supervisor.
