We are currently recruiting a Laboratory Assistant on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, based in Alderley Park.

As Lab Assistant you will be providing to the scientific operations teams in the execution of routine laboratory work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scientific
  • Prepare, monitor and maintain compounds, stock solutions, buffers and other assay‑related materials.
  • Be responsible for routine calibration of assigned laboratory equipment.
  • Support the execution of assigned routine and bespoke assays.
  • Ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completion of tasks.
  • Report all errors and erroneous results to supervisor with minimal delay.
  • Work with other stakeholders to ensure all laboratory waste is managed appropriately.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all activities in compliance with SOPs and quality policies.
  • People
  • Assist in the supervision and mentoring of trainees and other support staff when required.
  • Treat all colleagues with dignity and respect.
  • Business
  • Participate in initiatives to improve group processes and make efficiency gains in assays.
  • Perform work to an exceptionally high standard within specified time frames, while strictly adhering to safety regulations and applicable QC procedures.
  • Self
  • Follow Health and Safety procedures at all times in the workplace.
  • Participate in all mandatory training required to perform effectively in job role.
  • Keep personal training record up to date and discuss any gaps with supervisor.
  • Complete timesheets on time and in accordance with guidance from Finance.
  • Actively participate in Evotalks and agree on personal targets and expectations with supervisor.
  • Perform any other task reasonably requested by supervisor.
