Our Alderley Park site is set in the heart of Cheshire surrounded by a stunning 400‑acre estate, open green spaces, and sweeping viewpoints, all within easy reach of Merseyside and Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Shropshire. Easy access to public transport.

Role And Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct both routine and Analytical Sciences assays including MS/MS compound optimisation and LC method optimisation for high volumes of compounds using automated tools and established processes.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for the team and study managers, providing operational and scientific support across all routine assays, including problem solving, data analysis and interpretation.
  • Effectively plan and communicate assay schedules within the team and cross‑functional groups.
  • Drive and support assay development and validation.
  • Collaborate with scientists and regularly present findings to the group.
  • Report all errors and erroneous results to your supervisor with minimal delay.
  • Keep up to date with relevant scientific advances and regulatory guidelines in the field of Analytical Sciences.
  • Ensure that all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation of all activities as required by relevant SOPs and Quality policies.
  • Stay informed on future technologies/instrumentation, assessing benefits and implementation for HT‑Analytical.

Skills & Competencies (essential)

  • Minimum BSc in relevant scientific discipline covering chemistry with experience of working within industry.
  • Produce accurate documentation and report all analytical activities and results in a clear and coherent manner, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work without close supervision.
  • Highly motivated team player with a high level of dedication.
  • Plan, schedule and carry out your work effectively for successful project completion.
  • Experience in working with LC‑MS/MS techniques in support of pre‑clinical small/large molecule assays.
  • Experience with MassLynx™, Analyst™ or other mass spectrometry data‑acquisition software packages.
  • A broader knowledge of analytical support in drug discovery/development.
  • A knowledge of DMPK/ADME assays within drug discovery.
  • The ability to perform routine maintenance/troubleshoot on LC‑MS/MS equipment.

People

  • Coach, mentor and line‑manage other members of the team through meetings, regular 1‑to‑1 discussions and ad hoc interactions.

  • We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Pension on completion (but not subject to) of your 3‑month probationary period. Contributions 6% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 6% for the employer. The employee can opt to increase their contribution and the employer will match the increase up to a maximum of 7.5%.
