We are currently recruiting a Laboratory Assistant on a 6 month Fixed Term Contract, based in Alderley Park. As Lab Assistant you will be providing support to the scientific operations teams in the execution of routine laboratory work.
Role Type: 6 months, Fixed Term Contract Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday)

Key Responsibilities
- Scientific: To prepare, monitor and maintain compounds, stock solutions, buffers and any other assay related materials of relevance.
- To be responsible for the routine calibration of assigned laboratory equipment.
- To support the execution of assigned routine and bespoke assays.
- To ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completion of assigned tasks.
- To ensure that all errors and erroneous results are reported to your supervisor with minimal delay.
- To work with other stakeholders to ensure all laboratory waste is managed in the appropriate manner.
- To ensure accurate and complete documentation of all activities as required by relevant SOPs and Quality policies.
- People: To assist on the supervision and mentoring of trainees and other support staff when required.
- To treat all colleagues with dignity and respect.
- Business: To participate in initiatives to improve group processes and make efficiency gains in assays.
- To ensure work is performed to an exceptionally high standard, within specified time frames, ensuring safety regulations and applicable QC procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Self: To ensure appropriate Health and Safety procedures are followed at all times in the workplace.
- To participate in all mandatory training required to perform effectively in job role.
- To ensure that your personal training record is up to date and that any gaps are discussed with your supervisor.
- To complete timesheets on time and in accordance with guidance from Finance.
- To actively participate in Evotalks and agree on personal targets and expectations with supervisor.
- Any other task that may reasonably be requested by your supervisor.
