Main Scope of Role
As a Sample Management Technician in the Sample Management department, you will be responsible for the storage and timely provision of research samples to Cyprotex and Evotec projects. Both automated and manual systems will be employed to supply small molecules and larger biological modalities to scientists from internal and partner organisations. You will be primarily lab-based working collaboratively with our global Sample Management team and screening colleagues. You will deliver to agreed service levels with a strong customer focus, while contributing to the continuous improvement of our industry-leading capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Scientific
- Working as part of a team to deliver research samples in the requested format and to agreed timelines utilising both manual and automated processes.
- Managing customer orders using specialized informatics systems and responding to queries via email or telephone.
- To ensure that all errors and erroneous results are reported to your supervisor with minimal delay.
- Interacting with other EVOTEC Sample Management groups and Project Managers/Team Leaders to process global orders.
- To ensure all laboratory equipment and work areas are clean and in proper working order on completion of assigned tasks.
- To monitor and maintain stock consumables, communicating with internal buyers and external suppliers.
- To ensure accurate and complete documentation of all activities as required by relevant SOPs and Quality policies.
- To treat all colleagues with dignity and respect.
- To participate in initiatives to improve group processes and make efficiency gains in Sample Management processes.
- To ensure work is performed to an exceptionally high standard, within specified time frames, ensuring safety regulations and QC procedures are strictly adhered to.
- To ensure appropriate Health and Safety procedures are always followed in the workplace.
- To participate in all training required to perform effectively in job role.
- To ensure that your personal training record is up to date and that any gaps are discussed with your supervisor.
- To complete time-sheets on time and in accordance with guidance from Finance.
- To actively participate in Evotalks and agree on personal targets and expectations with supervisor.
- Any other task that may reasonably be requested by your supervisor.

- Pension on completion (but not subject to) of your 3-month probationary period. Contributions 5% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 5% for the employer. The employee can opt to increase their contribution, and the employer will match the increase up to a maximum of 7.5%.
