Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Head of FM&E to lead the engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of facilities and processes of a complex pharmaceutical site, comprising production, laboratories, warehouses, offices, chemical stores and utilities areas.
Aptuit is a leader in the discovery and development of novel small molecule drugs.
The Company has built substantial drug discovery and development expertise and an industrialised platform that can drive new innovative small molecule compounds into the clinic.

Responsibilities
- Manage FM&E department across the Abingdon site, to meet internal needs and ensure c GMP regulatory compliance.
- Manage Operational and Capex budgets for FM&E balancing internal and external resources alongside short-medium-long term business needs and sustainability plans.
- Lead and supervise the following Site Services; Site security/facilities and general services, Facilities and plants electrical & mechanical maintenance, calibration and utilities maintenance.
- Oversee external service provider maintenance contracts, ensuring services are fit for purpose.
- Oversee the Planned Preventative Maintenance regime, ensuring all FM services (hard & soft) fulfil lease obligations and ensure Statutory and EHS compliance.
- Maintain and develop KPIs to ensure the effectiveness of PPMs and ratio of remedial work is managed accordingly.
- Through regular review and appraisal, ensure that appropriate training and coaching is in place for the team to meet both their development needs and those of the business.
- Guarantee timely implementation of QA and EHS CAPAs related to site and engineering aspects.
- Act as primary interface with internal stakeholders and external authorities/auditors to liaise with regard to service delivery for Site Facilities, infrastructure, maintenance, and Engineering compliance.
- Ensure up-to-date technical documentation is produced and maintained for the site.

- Able to build relationships with direct reports, customers and suppliers to solve problems and resolve issues.
- Multi-task concurrent activities, both planned and unplanned, according to the demands of the role, whilst remaining calm and focused on medium/long term objectives.
- Demonstrate resilience in a highly dynamic and demanding environment.
- Effective communicator able to discuss issues with multiple stakeholders and at differing levels of the organisation.
- Adept at managing a wide range of contracts with external service providers.
- Demonstrate and promote a professional attitude at all times.
- Understand engineering plant equipment and associated requirements to comply with legislation and Gx P.
- Able to work as part of a team and individually.
Education And Experience
- Degree qualified in Engineering Discipline or equivalent experience.
- Management of Operational budgets.
- Technical knowledge in facilities and Pharmaceutical API manufacturing facilities and related regulations/legislation.
- Experience of a CAFM/CMMS system is desirable.
