We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Operations Specialist to join our Logistics team in Alderley Park, Macclesfield, SK10 4TG.

This includes in vitro screening to support discovery projects, regulatory studies to support preclinical and clinical development, specialist mechanistic in vitro human and animal toxicity models and PBPK/QSAR modelling expertise. Purpose of the Role
Ensure efficient, compliant, and reliable supply chain operations across warehouse and distribution processes. Apply specialist-level knowledge, work independently, and contribute to the development and implementation of improved standards, processes, and workflows across the site.
Key Accountabilities
- Execute warehouse operations including goods receipt, storage, internal provisioning (milk run), and inventory tasks such as cycle counts, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth material flows.
- Perform distribution activities including packing, documentation, shipping, and import/export processing, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Work closely with Global material planning to ensure right inventory levels.
- Apply specialist understanding of pharmaceutical materials (consumables, chemicals, biomaterials) to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient handling.
- Utilize logistics tools and ERP/WMS systems with expertise; ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and data integrity.
- Independently implement (sub)projects focused on process optimization, systemic introduction of standards, and lean improvements.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Quality, Labs, Manufacturing, EHS, Supply Chain) to coordinate workflows and resolve operational topics.
- Train colleagues in specific workflows and support capability building within the team.
Knowledge & Experience
- Apprenticeship with relevant experience, or BSc/MSc with previous experience in supply chain, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or relevant regulated operations.
- Ability to independently complete tasks without instruction and to understand the specialist background behind business processes and documents.
- Strong knowledge of import/export requirements and documentation.
- Deep familiarity with handling pharmaceutical materials such as consumables, chemicals, and biomaterials.
- Proficiency in logistics tools (ERP/WMS), scanning technologies, and data accuracy practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading or implementing improvements, standards, or (sub)projects.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate across departments and support training activities.
Education and Qualifications
- Completed vocational apprenticeship in logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, or related technical field; or BSc/MSc in Supply Chain, Logistics, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
- Training in import/export regulations, hazardous materials, or lean methodology is beneficial.

Benefits Package
Pension on completion (but not subject to) of your 3-month probationary period. Contributions 5% for employees (salary sacrifice) and 5% for the employer. The employee can opt to increase their contribution, and the employer will match the increase up to a maximum of 7.5%. 25 days holiday plus.
