Build the technical foundation for an ambitious AI platform in customer operations.
Evoro is building an ambitious AI platform in customer operations — a space where AI will change how teams understand customers, improve performance and drive outcomes. We are early, but not theoretical: there is a working product, early commercial momentum, and a clear opportunity to build something significant. We are now looking for a founding engineer to help turn that foundation into a category-defining company. This is a hands-on technical leadership role at the earliest stage of the company. You will work directly with the founder, own the technical direction, build the platform from early product to scale, and shape the engineering culture from the beginning. At the start, you will be hands-on every day. Over time, you will build and lead the team behind it.
The role
- You will be the senior technical owner from day one: building, shipping, debugging, integrating, securing and operating the product yourself.
- You will work directly with the founder on product direction, customer feedback, technical priorities and the decisions that shape the company. You will need to be comfortable moving between strategy and implementation, sometimes in the same hour.
- As the company grows, there is an opportunity to move into the CTO where you will hire and lead the engineering team. But the first version of the role is simple: own the technology, build the product, and create the technical foundation the company can scale from.
What you’ll do
- Build and ship: You will own production delivery from day one, building across the stack and setting the standard for pace, quality and judgement.
- Own the architecture: You will design and evolve the technical foundations of the platform, making decisions that can support scale, reliability, security and future product expansion.
- Own the AI layer: Evoro is AI-native, but the value is in building AI that works reliably in a real product environment. You will own the systems, workflows, evaluation, accuracy, latency, cost control and reliability required to make that happen.
- Own trust and security: Evoro works with sensitive business and customer data. Security, privacy, access control, auditability and data handling need to be built properly from the start.
- Own integrations and infrastructure: The platform needs to work reliably with the systems customers already use. You will own the technical approach to integrations, infrastructure, deployment, observability and operational resilience.
- Build the team: Initially, you will be the senior technical owner. As traction grows, you will hire, lead and develop the engineering team.
What we are looking for
- You may be a founding engineer, early-stage CTO, staff/principal engineer, or technical lead ready to move into a true company-building role.
- You should be able to move quickly without creating chaos, think deeply without overcomplicating, and make pragmatic technical decisions without compromising the foundations that matter.
Must-have experience
- Strong modern full-stack engineering experience, ideally with TypeScript, React/Next.js and Node.
- Strong backend and database experience, especially PostgreSQL and multi-tenant platform architecture.
- Experience building and operating production software that handles sensitive business or customer data.
- Real experience building AI/LLM-powered product features in production.
- Strong security instincts around authentication, authorisation, data privacy, tenant boundaries and auditability.
- Experience integrating with third-party APIs, webhooks and external systems.
- Ability to own infrastructure, deployment, observability and production reliability.
- High ownership, strong judgement and the temperament for an early-stage company-building role.
Useful experience
- Any of the following would be valuable: Customer operations, sales technology, service technology, CRM, contact-centre, telephony or communications software.
- Building AI-native, workflow, analytics, data-heavy or platform products.
- Experience with enterprise security, GDPR, SOC 2 or compliance-sensitive environments.
- Prior 0→1 product experience.
- Experience hiring and leading engineers as a company scales.
You will likely thrive in this role if you:
- want to build a company, not just write code;
- care about product, customers and commercial outcomes;
- can build quickly while protecting the technical foundations;
- understand that AI products need evaluation, not guesswork;
- are comfortable owning hard, ambiguous technical decisions;
- know what to build now and what to defer;
- want the potential for meaningful ownership in the company you are helping create.
You will probably not enjoy this role if you want a narrow remit, a large existing team, a mature roadmap, or a hands-off leadership position from day one.
Why now
AI is changing how customer-facing teams operate, and most businesses are still only at the beginning of that shift. Evoro is building into that change. We believe there is a major opportunity to create a new platform in a large and fast-moving market. That is the company we are building.
What you’ll get
- A senior technical leadership role with meaningful ownership from day one.
- Potential for meaningful equity and direct influence over the company’s direction.
- The chance to own the architecture, engineering culture and technical roadmap from the beginning.
- A working product and early commercial momentum.
- Direct partnership with the founder on product, customers, strategy and company-building.
- The opportunity to build a serious AI platform in a large and fast-moving market.
Note: This is an early-stage role with a salary package set accordingly. We are looking for someone motivated by ownership, growth and the opportunity to build something significant. For the right person, future equity or options may be available as the role develops.
