Join Evoralis to develop enzymes for a circular plastic economy
Evoralis, a spin-out from the University of Cambridge, is on a mission to enable the textile industry to become truly sustainable and circular. We use an ultra-fast screening platform to develop enzymes for breaking down mixed and blended textile fibers into their constituent building blocks to produce virgin-grade textile fibers.
Key Responsibilities:
·Play a vital role in maintaining lab organisation and support daily operations
·Maintain and update stocks of laboratory consumables, reagents, and chemicals
·Liaise with vendors and sales representatives to obtain quotes and place orders
·Prepare bacterial growth media, agar plates, and buffers following standard protocols
·Organize and maintain plasmid and bacterial strain libraries
·Assist with documentation and record-keeping for sample storage and retrieval
·Perform routine maintenance and calibration of lab instruments
·Assist with protein expression and purification workflows following standard protocols
·Ensure proper disposal of biological and chemical waste
Skills, qualifications and experience needed:
·A Bachelor\’s degree or diploma in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or a related field
·Familiarity with sterile techniques, buffer/media preparation and inventory management
·Strong organisational and time management skills
·Excellent communication skills including dealing with suppliers
