Job Description

Permanent | Space Systems | Hardware, Autonomy, and Innovation

We’re supporting a pioneering deep-tech company building autonomous spacecraft systems that can sense, think, and act independently in orbit. Their technology is redefining how we protect and operate satellites in space, and they’re now looking for an Avionics Engineer to help design and deliver the next generation of intelligent orbital platforms

If you love building complex electronics for real-world environments and want to work hands-on across design, integration, and testing, this could be your next big step.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Designing and laying out high-speed and mixed-signal PCBs for advanced space systems.
  • Conducting hardware bring-up, validation, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and other test equipment.
  • Building and maintaining electrical harnesses and assemblies for both flight and development hardware.
  • Working closely with mechanical, software, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Supporting qualification testing for EMC, vibration, and thermal environments.

What You’ll Bring

  • BEng/MEng in Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Proven experience in PCB design, layout, and hardware testing.
  • Strong understanding of high-speed interfaces and signal integrity.
  • Skilled in using lab tools for debugging and performance testing.
  • Confident in electrical assembly, soldering, and harness fabrication.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing carrier boards for Linux-based SoCs.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA SoCs or embedded Linux hardware platforms.
  • Exposure to FPGA integration and hardware simulation workflows.
  • Knowledge of space-rated electronics and fault-tolerant design.
  • Understanding of signal, power, and thermal integrity analysis.
