Role Purpose:

To develop and use our vehicle and energy management simulation tools in order to maximise performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop advanced vehicle models across a range of software applications and languages in order to understand & improve our vehicle performance.
  • Write in-house software applications to optimise our in-car energy management strategy.
  • Use the latest methods in Machine Learning to produce predictive models for vehicle systems.
  • Improve the performance and accuracy of existing models and algorithms.
  • Continually research simulation methods to ensure our models and algorithms are industry leading.
  • Work closely with race engineering & simulator departments to deliver accurate simulation results, both pre & in-race/test.
  • Support race and test events with analytical support & performance advice.
  • Pro-actively lead model correlation activities to improve simulation accuracy.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in industry and/or Academia in vehicle simulation and optimisation.
  • Strong degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Maths, minimum Masters level.
  • Proficiency and interest in computational methods and numerical analysis.
  • Proficient with programming and analysis languages e.g. Matlab, Python, JavaScript, C++, C, & C#.
  • Good familiarity with various optimisation theories, linear optimal control and mathematical solver types.
  • Experience with Simulink, Canopy & Simpack an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Tyres, Vehicle Dynamics & Aerodynamics. Experience with performance control systems an advantage.

  • Flexible & comfortable with occasional travel. Event support could require working long hours over weekends.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Highest levels of professionalism and integrity.
