Package Management of Structural Steel / Envelope packages, including managing subcontractors deliverables, measuring subcontractor performance, raising health, safety and environment issues, managing day-to-day interface activities.
Including construction sequence strategy, scope analysis, identification of scope gaps, production of documentation for procurement, liaising with designers, value engineering proposals for improvement of design. Works entrusted will be managing of a Work Package – including Structural Steel or Envelope elements of the Conventional Station and/or Main Station Roof at the HS2 Old Oak Common project in West London. This will include managing or supporting but not limited to the following:
- Ensuring a safe, healthy, environmentally sound delivery of all works entrusted.
- Day-to-day management of package, leading a team of two APMs.
- Working with the package design management team and the subcontractor to deliver the subcontract design portion of the works.
- Working with the package QS to issue communications to the subcontractor to manage the contract.
- Managing package of works, tracking subcontractors’ deliverables.
- Managing Activity Readiness certification.
- Documentation management through approval process and liaison with BBVS wider team.
- Reviewing subcontractors’ performance, proposing improvement opportunities.
- Liaising between subcontractor to resolve escalated clashes in day-to-day management.
- Ensure progress of works entrusted is accurately reported and documented.
- Ensure numbers of subcontractor’s operatives and plant active and inactive on site is accurately reported and documented.
Experience:
- Good understanding of contracts and identifying notifiable events (NEC3).
- Good general civil engineering experience on large infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding on shifting through Works Information.
- Good awareness of procurement processes and level of detail in scope documents and WI.
- Managing site activities & monitoring/reporting on subcontractors performance.
- Experience in multidisciplinary interfaces environment.
- Experience in temporary works and lifting solutions.
- Ability to report clear and reliable information.
- Experience in structural steel work, roofing, cladding & glazing scopes of work.
- Experience of Network Rail & TFL interface.
- Experience of Thames Water interface (or other water industry company) & other utilities providers.
- Experience of implementing and communicating in accordance with NEC3 contracts.
- Previous Experience of document control systems (BC, eB CEMAR etc.).
Qualifications:
- BSc, MSc, or BEng level qualification in a Civil Engineering or equivalent GNVQ.
- CSCS.
- Ideally have experience within a related environment.
- Eligibility to work and live in the UK.
- SMSTS.
- Membership to Professional institution such as ICE, APM.
