We are recruiting an experienced Commercial Gas / Combustion Service Engineer to support a prestigious contract. You will be responsible for covering multiple buildings through Oxford completing planned maintenance, reactive works, fault finding and compliance across critical heating, hot water and associated M&E systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown works on commercial gas and combustion plant
- Provide first-line response to critical heating and hot water systems, including gas pipework
- Gas testing, purging and safe isolations in line with IGE Regulations and British Standards
- Fault finding, repair and optimisation of gas appliances, pipework, valves, controls, pumps and associated plant
- Completion of all statutory paperwork, Gas Safe records, logbooks and electronic documentation
- Operate Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work in line with BGIS and client requirements
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely and to specification
- Monitor plant performance via BMS and proactively identify improvements and energy efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with H&S legislation, KPIs and SLAs at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Fully qualified Commercial Gas Engineer / Combustion Engineer
- Current ACS Certification (minimum: Core Safety, Indirect Fired Appliances & Commercial Pipework)
- City & Guilds or equivalent in Plumbing & Heating
- Proven experience working on commercial gas and combustion plant
- Strong fault-finding skills across gas appliances and associated HVAC systems
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics for fault diagnosis
- Experience completing RAMS, permits, job cards and compliance documentation
- Comfortable working independently in a technically demanding environment
Desirable Knowledge
- Experience working within critical environments (education, healthcare, commercial estates)
- Working knowledge of HVAC, BMS, LV systems, generators and UPS
- Understanding of financial control, quotations and materials management
