Overview Mechanical Maintenance EngineerLocation: Saffron Walden | Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:00 – 17:00 | Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + Excellent BenefitsWe\’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a close-knit team maintaining a modern commercial site in Saffron Walden. Working as part of a small on-site team of three engineers, you\’ll play a key role in keeping building services running smoothly across a busy, high-spec facility within the building services and facilities management sector.This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Mechanical Engineer who takes pride in delivering high standards, thrives on solving problems, and enjoys the variety of planned and reactive maintenance work.
What you\’ll be doing
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical systems and equipment
Responding to reactive maintenance and breakdowns, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively
Fault-finding on HVAC, hot and cold-water systems, and generators (basic electrical knowledge is beneficial)
Supervising sub-contractors on site and ensuring safe working practices are followed
Keeping accurate records, completing paperwork, and updating the maintenance system
You\’ll be part of the on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) with a £100 standby payment
What we\’re looking for
Recognised qualification in a mechanical discipline (e.g. HVAC, plumbing, mechanical engineering)
Experience in building services or facilities management environments
A proactive mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and organisational skills
