We are looking to recruit a Fire Door Maintenance Engineer to join a newly formed and expanding team, working across London and the surrounding areas on a key account network.
This is a mobile role covering multiple client sites, so a full UK driving licence is essential. You will play a critical role in maintaining fire door compliance, safety, and performance across a varied portfolio.
The Role
As a Fire Door Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of fire door assemblies to ensure full compliance with current regulations and agreed service levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out detailed fire door inspections using a newly introduced digital inspection system
- Completing fire door remedial works, including replacing doors, door sets, lippings, seals, signage, and associated painting
- Ensuring all fire door works are completed to a high standard and accurately recorded
- Working towards and maintaining BM TRADA accreditation, completing required training and qualifications
- Covering a defined London patch and collaborating with other teams to meet service requirements
- Being part of a growing team with strong long-term development opportunities
What Weβre Looking For
Essential:
- Proven experience working with fire door inspection, maintenance, or installation
- Time-served experience carrying out fire door remedial works
- NVQ or City & Guilds in Joinery / Carpentry
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- BM TRADA experience or certification
- Experience working across multiple sites
Reporting & Progression
- Daily reporting to the line manager
- The team will grow over time, with future opportunities for senior or area supervisor roles
