We are seeking a skilled Mobile Electrical Engineer to join our team covering Birmingham and surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer looking for stable, long-term work across secure sites with structured hours and clear overtime opportunities.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (41.25 hours per week)
The Role: As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across multiple sites. The Electrical Engineer will carry out electrical fault finding, repairs, and installations, while also supporting wider building services maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) and reactive works as an Electrical Engineer
- Diagnose faults, repair electrical systems, and complete installation works
- Respond to maintenance requests within agreed timeframes to ensure high service standards
- Undertake general building services tasks including minor mechanical, HVAC, and fabric maintenance
- Participate in the on-call rota and respond to emergency callouts when required
- Issue Permits to Work and monitor contractor activities where necessary
- Ensure all electrical systems and equipment operate to required safety and performance standards
- Maintain accurate records and complete reports using company systems
- Represent the business professionally while delivering excellent customer service as an Electrical Engineer
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven background working as an Electrical Engineer within facilities management or building services
- Strong knowledge of reactive and PPM maintenance within commercial environments
- Ability to fault find, repair, and maintain electrical systems independently
- Full UK Driving Licence
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
- Qualifications (One of the following): Electrical Level 2&3 City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent
Desirable:
- City & Guilds Inspection & Testing (2394/2395)
- JIB Accreditation
- IPAF or PASMA certification
- Completed recognised electrical apprenticeship
- Security
- BPSS Clearance (or ability to obtain)
