Evolve Staffing Ltd. is actively recruiting an experienced, highly motivated, and autonomous Band 7 Podiatrist to join a dynamic NHS Trust team serving patients in Slough. This temporary locum post is designed for a skilled specialist capable of managing complex clinical caseloads, providing advanced assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for patients presenting with high-risk foot complications, lower limb ulcerations, peripheral vascular disease, and neuropathic diabetic foot conditions.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide expert clinical leadership, diagnostic assessment, and advanced wound management for patients presenting with complex diabetic foot ulcers, acute tissue viability issues, and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Formulate, implement, and evaluate comprehensive, patient-centred care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including vascular surgeons, diabetologists, community nurses, and orthotists.
  • Perform conservative sharps debridement, advanced wound dressing selection, pressure offloading techniques, and vascular screening (including Doppler ultrasound assessments).
  • Provide clinical advice, education, and health promotion guidance to patients, carers, and primary care staff regarding foot care preservation and secondary complication prevention.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and contemporary clinical documentation in compliance with NHS Trust protocols, HCPC standards, and information governance requirements.

Shift Timings and Pattern

This position requires a commitment of 2 full days per week (typically 08:30 to 16:30 or 09:00 to 17:00, with flexible weekday options subject to agreement with the department manager).

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Podiatrist.
  • Degree or equivalent diploma in Podiatric Medicine.
  • Demonstrable post-qualification experience at Band 6 or Band 7 level within an NHS clinical setting, specialising in high-risk foot care and diabetic foot management.
  • Full Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
  • Up-to-date NHS compliance, including Enhanced DBS clearance, occupational health immunisations, and mandatory training certification.
