Evolve Staffing Ltd. is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist for a senior locum placement with an NHS mental health service on the Isle of Wight. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide clinical leadership within a close-knit psychiatric department, overseeing adult mental health services across community or inpatient facilities. The successful consultant will manage complex clinical cases, fulfill statutory mental health duties, and mentor junior doctors within a supportive clinical environment. Core Clinical Responsibilities: * Deliver expert clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and medical treatment planning for adult service users presenting with complex mental health conditions. * Execute statutory duties under the Mental Health Act as a Section 12(2) registered doctor and Approved Clinician (AC), conducting formal assessments and tribunal reporting. * Lead multidisciplinary team meetings, clinical ward rounds, and Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews. * Oversee psychotropic prescribing, physical health monitoring, and risk management strategies. * Collaborate with local healthcare partners, social care teams, and crisis teams to optimize patient care continuity across the island. * Contribute to clinical quality assurance, clinical audits, and medical education within the trust.
