Evolve Staffing Ltd. has a vacancy for a competent and patient-focused Band 5 Audiologist to join an NHS Audiology Department in Camberley. This fixed-term locum contract provides diagnostic hearing evaluations and adult hearing rehabilitation services for adult patients presenting with hearing loss, tinnitus, and communication difficulties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine diagnostic audiological assessments for adult patients, including otoscopy, Pure Tone Audiometry (PTA) with air and bone conduction, and tympanometry.
  • Program, fit, and fine-tune digital NHS hearing aids using real-ear measurements (REM) and manufacturer-specific fitting software.
  • Perform hearing aid repairs, earmould impressions, modification, retubing, and routine maintenance appointments.
  • Provide patient-centred counseling and auditory rehabilitation strategies to patients and their families to maximize communication effectiveness and hearing device acclimatization.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of clinical outcomes within digital NHS hospital administration systems and audit platforms.

Shift Timings and Pattern

This post operates on a full-time schedule, with shift timings structured from 08:30am to 17:00pm, Monday through Friday, totaling 37.5 hours weekly.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Registration with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Audiologist / Hearing Aid Dispenser.
  • BSc in Audiology, Certificate of Competence in Audiology, or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated hands-on clinical experience within an NHS adult audiology service.
  • Proficient in Real Ear Measurements (REM), digital hearing aid programming software, and impression taking.
  • Full UK Right to Work and active NHS compliance clearance (DBS, references, occupational health).
